Our Work

Our focus is on unleashing the power of the collective — students, teachers, leaders, families, private sector partners, and the community—and harnessing their potential with a multisector approach to solve our school’s most challenging and pressing issues. The Capellan Group is delighted to serve and partner with incredible organizations including:

The Educational Crisis Communications practice within The Perry Group couples the critical lived experience and institutional knowledge of Victor Capellan, a former school superintendent, New York City school principal and Rhode Island state education official, with Gregg Perry, a seasoned communicator who brings creative thinking, legal sensitivity and a unique perspective to clients who are facing reputation challenges. Together, Capellan and Perry have more than 65 years of combined experience in education and communications.

Papitto Opportunity Connection

The Papitto Opportunity Connection (POC) is a non-profit private foundation dedicated to listening and working together with Rhode Island’s Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities to empower and create individual success stories by investing in education, job skills training and entrepreneurial ventures. Victor serves as an organizational development consultant to the foundation, providing support to POC-funded organizations.

Families in Action Rhode Island

The Capellan Group serves Families In Action as an organizational development consultant pro-bono. Families in Action, Inc. is a new organization created to mobilize and support Black and Latino parents to advocate for changes that benefit their children. The concept is to strengthen the role families play in education via a program that places families in the middle of reimagining and rebuilding schools, particularly in underserved communities.

It is not enough to help parents better navigate today’s broken system. The plan is to create a parent-peer leadership program that brings a unique perspective and understanding to a child’s education journey.
